Snow Play Sets and Rare WHOLE family shot!

I had such fun collaborating with
Kirsten of Winipoo Jewels and Rachel of MyDeepBlueC on these Snow Play sets! Both of these girls' work is just amazing and detailed!

This is possibly one of my favorite Japanese Import fabrics ever..so vibrant and adorable, and I mixed it up with a few lovely European fabric including the TDF German Corduroy that I sooooo love!

On a personal note, we have already seen Santa, and done some Christmas shopping...and I've even whipped out the mixer to attempt some baked goods! I have to admit I am not a baker....I can CREATE many non-baked good items out of thin air and love every second of it....but baking is NOT my "cup of tea." I despise it actually. After a round of homemade peppermint patties and 2 batches of less than terrific cookies, I am DONE with my holiday baking. Hours of making a mess in a kitchen all for something that is going to be gobbled up and vanished just isn't fun for me. My husband was laughing to see my 2 "big" kids....and me...and every bare patch of counter space imaginable...covered in goo...and me outwardly admitting that yes...I "hate" baking. Merry Christmas all and let your cookies and baked goods be better than mine!

And here's a rare glimpse of our WHOLE family in one shot here with a Santa Clause who was less-than-amused by our photographing, flash popping entourage (aka grandparents and Aunt Jen:)!

My Two Sweet Girls!!

My two angels! I love these pictures ! One is of my new set.
View my "Wild Blossom" auction here!

And I love that picture of Wynter....10 months already! It is so cliche, but "where does the time go?" My snuggly baby girl is getting so big. I love this adorable sweater too (Thanks again Fran!!), knitted by one of my husband's very talented co-workers! It is so sweet on her! Makes me want to try my hand at knitting!!

Tsukiyo

My latest listing was inspired by a fabric that I "just had to have..." Owls and Japanese writing and I'm in love! This fabric is so classy, cute and elegant and I love how it was transformed into THIS SET. I also did a long sleeve deco tee with crocheted cuffs and sash to complete the set in this listing HERE.

I am also happy to announce that I've joined the girls at Anthology Inc. and look forward to working with everyone there.

Rudolph!

Rudolph! The original is a must-see every year for me! This extra full and fluffy set features many of the beloved characters from this classic, and is all-girl, all-fun for the holidays! The Abomdible Snow Creature is for some reason, my daughter's favorite so we stuck him smack dab in the middle! She also couldn't (wouldn't) stop playing with the removable fur jingle sash as it "sounded just like Santa!" So for all you fun and playful holiday events....here's THE Rudolph set to have! Be sure to check WisteriaLane for matching accessories, and other great Rudolph finds!!

City Snowflake

We had fun in our downtown "painting the town red" for the WisteriaLane "Paint the Town Red" Launch. I love the sophisticated style of this set with a slightly whimsical Euro flair. My daughter fell in love with the "snowflakes" as well as the pure comfort of this set! Find it here! And be sure to search WisteriaLane for other great "red" finds!!

Matryoshka Doll

Are you "Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" Search WisteriaLane and Boutique Newz for this fun collaboration themed launch! Can you guess my answer? Funky and sweet for your own little "doll." Arielle decided a pocket was necessary for the longest hanging doll to "play" in....what a great touch to this fun set! View it here.

Baby Boy!

We have been so busy enjoying fall around here, I feel I haven't had a minute of down time. Tonight after a quick dinner, we went in 3 different directions. Aunt Jen happened to swing by just in time to take care of Wynter. Daddy sped off with Arielle to ballet class, and I took Kaden for a much-needed first haircut! Where is my baby boy going!!! Yesterday his first "big boy bed," and tonight a hair cut! We were all a little reluctant to finally take the plunge, but his hair was starting to look a bit "mullet-ish" if you will! Check this link out to see what a good boy he was!

Mommy's Little "Helper"

With the craziness of three, a little helper is always welcome. With past feeding success with my little helper, I trusted I could manage to get dressed very quickly just down the hall. Upon my return I was informed that "Wynter was making a mess." I calmly said I would like to take a picture of how "good" she is at helping me.

Sooooo, one might suppose that a lesson was learned. Nope. Dinner time rolls around and I'm running a bath for the "big kids" and allow my "helper" to once again take over. This is what I find just minutes later. Accident or purposful and pure entertainment value???? hmmmm.

Getting crazy in RABBIT TOWN

Well I was hard pressed to get a shot of my darling little bunny without her rolling on the ground laughing, dancing, being silly and carrying on as 4 year olds do! She had fun "feeding the ants and bunnies" while I took pictures of her in my latest creation. Then I turned the camera over to her so she could take some "pictures of mommy and Kaden!" How brave am I!! Thanks for checking out Rabbit Town!
I had fun collaborating with Erin of The Vintage Pearl on this set, so be sure to check out her amazingly beautiful M2M jewelry.

Joyful Sparrow

Here is my latest set, Joyful Sparrow. I had started this set to list with my other for the Joel Dewberry Indelible launch, but as things often go with an out-of-commission knee and three kids under the age of 4, it just wasn't complete in time. I have been working out the details of this set taking it from the image in my mind to paper to reality, so I'm so happy with how it turned out!

We had a blast doing these pictures....although I did end up with some Poison Ivy, which I can only guess came from being in the woods with these shots. I wasn't exactly prepared for a woodsy hike, but little miss "Joyful Sparrow" herself had other plans. She just knew all the birds wanted to see her in her bird set....gotta love 4 year olds! Thanks for taking a peek!

Here is a sneak peek and the LINK to this auction (although it will not be active until about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning).

Fleeting Summer

We've been soaking up the last days of summer around here. A recent trip to the Hands-On-Museum with me in my wheelchair, children on my lap and a wild-driving husband has given me even more appreciation for the free use of my legs.
The countdown is on for my knee surgery. Pooooooooooor me!!

I can never believe it when summer is "over." Life moves so fast...we learned we need to pinpoint "dates" with our friends, especially the ones that don't live right across town.

We've done a great job this summer of getting together with many of our beloved friends, some of whom we don't see on a regular basis. Here's a shout out to Rob and Julie, and darling Jackson who we finally had a chance to meet yesterday! We love you guys!!!

Daddy and Wynter swinging

Here are the kids just hanging out while we enjoyed a end-of-summer mommy lunch before one of my teacher girlfriends starts back to work without me tomorrow!! I feel we've enjoyed summer and created memories that help shape our children into the little people they are and who they are becoming.

We've even had the opportunity for Joel himself to pop onto our launch board, how cool is he!!!??? His fabrics are amazing and this launch is going to rock the Ebay world with the amazing talent I've been so honored to work with.....fighting the weather here for pics, but here is a sneak peek!!! Home is Where the "Art" Is

(Below) Islamic Art; Inspired by my
husband's travels around the middle East. He actually did
some excavation work around the pyramids in Egypt.
Since this silly knee
injury, I've had more time to look around and appreciate the art inside our humble walls. My husband and I both had a severe traveling bug before we got married, and we each had the opportunity to do some world travels, much to the dismay of our bank accounts. We had some amazing travels both together and apart, and we went with the "do it while you can" theory as much as we could! With
both of us still
and forever

(right) Scroll made by a friend in Japan who gave me weekly calligraphy lessons when I lived there. This was a gift before I left Japan. It is in our entrace hallway.

(Below)We got this in Peru near the
Andes mountains in our
travels together. It hangs in our living room.

having student loans both from our undergraduate and Masters degrees, traveling may never have been the wisest financial choice....but we will always have the memories of our years and years of worldly travel. I thought I'd share some pieces around our home that are beautiful to us and represent fond memories of people and places that have shaped us.....

Handmade by my FIL
for our wedding gift in 2000

My husband did this stone work above our
fireplace. This is an 11-foot ceiling. He has
an eye for doing this even though this was his first
time doing stonework. I love our "hands"
photograph. However...it is missing one little
baby hand as we thought at that
our family was complete! Wrong!
I painted this mural in Kaden's room before we moved in last year.

Kaden's artwork on our

wall. Can't forget the artistic expression of a 2-year old.

This incredible Japanese fabric was given to me by some friends who traveled to our wedding from Japan. My husband had it matted and framed for my birthday some years ago.

Yes, this does constitute

art in our home.
Little treasures are the best and
stir up fond memories when displayed
as art pieces in the home!
This is a simple "coke"
bottle from my travels with
friends in Thailand.

ain't nothin gonna break-a my stride...

" ....ain't nothing gonna slow me down, whoa-oo, I've got to keep on movin...oooooo"

O.K. well maybe this does break my stride. And slows me down. And has certainly made me less fun. Here we are on vacation...which usually includes hiking, kayaking, beaching it, running after children....and most of these things are happening...without me!! I had a little "meniscus tearing" incident occur just a few days before we left, and has left me on crutches for 7-10 days!!!

We're still having fun though. I borrowed a wheelchair which has allowed me to get pushed at great speeds around the campground by my husband who is forced to entertain himself by all of this. The kids enjoy getting turns riding in the wheelchair and I can pick things up with the crutches when anyone drops things. I am served like a queen instead of being the one doing everything for everyone at all times! And I'm most certainly the brunt of all family jokes here all of a sudden.

Soooo, here's hoping for a speedy recovery....one can't just be a gimpy queen forever now can she??

Cousin Hunter taking good care of Wynter for mommy!

Who's gonna wash me??? Not mom!

Autumn Kiss

Sooooo. we were not intending on keeping this set in the designing process. I designed. I cut. I measured. And I fell in love. Yes I know I do that with many of my sets (does that make me a seamstress narcissist?)....but a sumptuous, cuddly and lovely fall set with a bit of Euro edginess was just what our closets were craving!! Please check out Autumn Kiss here!

Summer Lovin, Lovin Summer!

Treasure burial markers

Where's my treasure mommy??

These may look like little sticks in the ground to the average eye. But make no mistake...these are treasure markers. I like to mix things up here a bit. Every once in a while , instead of just giving my darling children a cookie or one of their fave treats such as YES a "date," I make a little game out of it. They have been digging in their sandbox for the better part of a 1/2 hour here in search of their buried tresure. They love this game and I have fun burying and marking their space. Today inside their ziplock bags are some new zoo animal toys and a triple gingersnap cookie...and yes...a date! Not only did they gobble up their lunch (goat cheese, spinach and crab quesidillas), but they have been digging for all this time which allows me to watch out the window while I blog about it. We just are LOVING summer. Here are some other fun pics of some things we've been up to around here!!

Cousin Edmund and catching frogs!!

The "interesting" llama farm with good friends Jeremy and Julie and family!

A walk to the beach from the lighthouse with grandpa!!

Even a day at the beach includes doggie (aka "baby")
